    The makers of Mahavatar have unveiled the first look of Vicky Kaushal as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in his upcoming film Mahavatar

    Vicky Kaushal is all set to feature in one of the most ambitious projects of his career. After speculations that the actor will be reuniting with filmmaker Dinesh Vijan on his next project, the makers confirmed the reports by sharing the first look from their upcoming film Mahavatar. Helmed by Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik, the film explores the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama and is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films.  The film will hit the theatres on Christmas 2026.

    Mahavatar first look revealed

    Taking to Instagram, the makers of Mahavatar shared the first look of Vicky Kaushal from the film. The first motion poster reveals that the film is about the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, ‘the eternal warrior of dharma.’ Later, the robust avatar of Vicky as Chiranjeevi Parashurama is revealed.

    Vicky in his Parashurama avatar is seen wearing multiple rudraksh malas, an orange dhoti and a top knot.

    The poster reveals that Mahavatar, starring Vicky Kaushal, is backed by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and directed by Amar Kaushik.

    The makers captioned the post, “Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas - Christmas 2026!”

    Reacting to the poster images, actress Nimrat Kaur and actors Sharad Kelkar and Ayushmann Khurrana commented with fire emojis.

    According to a report by Pinkvilla, the pre-production for Mahavatar will begin in 2025 and will be one of the most ambitious projects for both Vicky and Maddock Films. “The film requires 6 to 8 months plus of prep before going on floors, and that begins in 2025,” the source revealed.

    Vicky is also shooting for his romantic drama film Love And War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor has also completed the shooting for his action-thriller film Chhaava, which is also produced by Maddock Films.
