'Love will stay': Sushmita Sen's brother Rajeev Sen pens a note as he finally gets divorced from Charu Asopa

Just a week ahead of completing four years of marriage, Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen and his actress-wife Charu Asopa finally got divorced. The final court hearing for the same was scheduled for today, i.e. June 8, 2023. The businessman confirmed the news with a heartfelt note on his social media handle.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Rajeev shared a loved-up picture with Charu and wrote, “There are no good byes! Just two people who just couldn’t hold on to each other. Love will stay. We will always remail mom and dad to our daughter.” In the photo, the duo could be seen hugging each other and smiling for the camera.

The couple had tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in Goa on June 16, 2019, in the presence of their family and friends. Their marriage hit rough patches much before their first anniversary. After several ups and downs in the relationship, the couple embraced parenthood in 2021 with the arrival of their daughter Ziana. Hence, the couple decided to give a second chance to their marriage for the sake of their daughter. However, things turned ugly and Charu moved ahead with separation.

Amid this rough patch in their marriage, the couple hurled accusations at each other. While Rajeev claimed that Charu cheated on him by hiding about her past marriage. Charu had accused him of domestic violence and cheating. She also alleged that she was left alone during her pregnancy. However, the duo also remained cordial with each other even after the separation. She accompanied Rajeev’s family to a wedding and even performed a romantic number with Rajeev.

Meanwhile, the couple had decided to co-parent their daughter after the divorce. Charu told Etimes that she will try to keep a happy environment around Ziana.
