Lahore: 1947- Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan starrer all set to release on Republic Day 2025? Here’s what we know

After the humongous success of Gadar and Gadar 2, all the eyes were trained on Sunny Deol and his next film. While there were many speculations about the actor all set to star in the third instalment of the Gadar series, he surprised everyone by announcing that his next film will be Lahore: 1947.

Well... the surprise just did not end there. Just as when everyone was super excited about Sunny Deol being a part of a film that’s about India and freedom, there was yet another surprise in store for all the cinegoers. The makers of the film announced that, joining Sunny Deol will be none other than Bollywood’s ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan.

The latest update on the film is that the film will now be released on Republic Day 2025, as per a source-based report in Bollywood Hungama. The report stated that, the shooting of the film Lahore: 1947 was currently underway and that the makers would be wrapping up the film by June 2024.

The said report also added that the film will see the recreation of yesteryear era and that too on a massive scale. In addition to that, the film will see the presence of drama and action as compared to VFX and stuff. The report further stated that, both, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi felt that the Republic Day weekend is the best time for the arrival of Lahore: 1947.

And the reason for the same was cited as since it was a patriotic film about a man’s love for India, there could not have been a better day than Republic Day for the film to be released. After the huge success of Gadar 2, the audiences are seemingly yearning to see Sunny Deol back in action. And Lahore: 1947 is the film which will see him bounce back in ‘action’! The report also added that, the presence of Aamir Khan will be that of a cameo.

The film Lahore: 1947 also saw the coming together (once again) of Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi, the two names which were responsible for many hits in the nineties.
