On September 23, director Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies was announced to be India’s official entry to the Oscars 2025. Backed by Aamir Khan and Jio Studios, the film enjoyed an outstanding reception from the audience and critics alike, after it was released earlier this year. The entire team is currently on cloud nine and celebrating the big news. Reacting to the news, filmmaker Kiran Rao issued a statement expressing gratitude to the selection committee and the audience. Now, Laapataa Ladies' actress Pratibha Ranta has shared a special post celebrating the massive feat.

She took to social media and penned a heartwarming note thanking Kiran. She even shared happy pictures with Kiran and her co-stars Nitanshi Goel and Sparsh Shrivastav.

Taking to Instagram, Pratibha shared several pictures with her Laapataa Ladies' team, and wrote, “Yesterday turned out to be one of the most special day of life, our film #LaapataaLadies was selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars, Thank You Kiran Ma’am for all your support and for taking me beneath your wings! A big shout out to our whole team. Can’t stop celebrating.”

The first picture features the director-actor duo posing for the camera while the second picture showcases the two indulged in a conversation. Another picture features Kiran giving instructions to Pratibha on the sets of Laapataa Ladies. In the picture, Pratibha is seen dressed as her character, Jaya. The next two pictures feature Pratibha with her co-stars Sparsh and Nitanshi.

Helmed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies starring Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastav, Nitanshi Goel, Ravi Kishan, and Chhaya Kadam, released in theatres on March 1, 2024. After enjoying a successful theatrical run, the film was released on Netflix. It became one of the most viewed Indian films on the OTT platform.
