Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure affects Naga Chaitanya; here’s how the actor is being extra careful

Laal Singh Chaddha was an important film. Not only was it Aamir Khan ’s first release in four long years, but also marked South sensation Naga Chaitanya ’s debut in the Hindi film industry. The actor portrayed the role of Laal aka Aamir’s friend from the army named Balaraju Bodi, fondly referred to as Bala. Not just fans but even Chay’s superstar father Nagarjuna Akkineni was delighted to see him grow as an actor with the film. However, Laal Singh Chaddha tanked at the box office.

The film fell prey to the boycott Bollywood trend on social media, and as a result failed miserably at the ticket windows. This has apparently affected Chaitanya and the way he is choosing scripts. According to a report shared by Pinkvilla, the South star is being extra careful now. A source in the know was quoted saying, “Naga Chaitanya is getting a lot of offers from big directors. He is also in talks with DJ Tillu director Vimal Krishna but is skeptical now. He is taking his time before signing the dotted lines.”

Not just his Bollywood debut film Laal Singh Chaddha, but even Chaitanya’s Telugu romantic drama Thank You co-starring Raashii Khanna failed to do well. It received mixed reaction from audiences as well as critics. The source revealed, “Since he had back-to-back 2 flops, Chay doesn’t want to take any wrong move and it is but obvious.”

The reason why many netizens decided to boycott Laal Singh Chaddha is statements made by the lead stars many years ago. According to trolls, Aamir had allegedly made an ‘anti national’ remark in the past. He was also accused of hurting religious sentiments with his film PK. Meanwhile Kareena Kapoor Khan was being trolled brutally because in an earlier interview she had said that nobody is forcing fans to go and watch their films.
