L2 Empuraan: Watch latest update from Prithviraj Sukumaran's movie

After several days of promoting his upcoming film Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set to resume shooting for his upcoming directorial, L2 Empuraan. The director was seen landing in Thiruvananthapuram for the film’s next schedule and a new video from the sets has been doing the rounds on social media. Superstar and leading man Mohanlal is also seen arriving on the sets in the video.

The new video features Prithviraj along with the crew members of L2 Empuraan at the film's set, which seems to be a stadium. Earlier, it was reported that the Kerala schedule for the Lucifer sequel would begin in June. However, it looks like the team has wrapped up their Gujarat schedule and has begun the other schedules in Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Kochi and Vandiperiyar.

Mohanlal's first-look poster to be released on a special day

According to reports, the makers of L2 Empuraan will release the eagerly-awaited first-look poster of Mohanlal as Khureshi Ab'raam on the actor’s birthday, May 21. However, an official confirmation about this is awaited. Although the film is currently in the production stage, the makers will be giving Lalettan fans a special treat as a celebration of his 64th birthday. 

The sequel to the 2019 Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer, L2 Empuraan, is the second film in the three-part franchise and will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Sujith Vaassudev returns as the cinematographer, while composer Deepak Dev scores the music for the action thriller. The movie is jointly produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions. It marks Lyca Productions' debut in the Malayalam film industry.

L2 Empuraan’s plot

Lucifer revolved around the complex world of Kerala's political scenario as it followed the story of Stephen Nedumpally, played by Mohanlal, who swears to protect his foster father's family from a series of challenges. In the end of Lucifer, it was revealed that Stephen is actually Khureshi Ab'raam, a formidable leader of an expansive international crime organisation. The sequel, Empuraan, is set to delve deeper into who Stephen Nedumpilly is and will take us through his transformation that led him to become Khureshi Ab'Raam.
