Kurangu Pedal OTT release date confirmed: When, where to stream this children's movie

The latest Tamil movie Kurangu Pedal is all set to make its streaming debut next week. Producer-actor Sivakarthikeyan confirmed on Friday that the film will premiere on Aha Tamil on June 14, a little more than a month after its theatrical debut.

Talking about the movie, Sivakarthikeyan promised that Kurangu Pedal would fill the audience with a sense of nostalgia. "This film beautifully depicts how children spent a summer vacation in the 1980s. It's very nostalgic. The film revolves around young children trying to learn how to ride a bicycle. Did they learn to cycle or fall into trouble? That's the story," said Sivakarthikeyan.

Kurangu Pedal is a humble movie set against the backdrop of a village. While the children crave the summer holiday, the villagers seem to dread the idea. The non-stop play, screaming, and all the troubles add to their adult challenges. The grown-ups warn the children to keep it to themselves and not create a lot of fuss. In return, the children vow to wreak havoc in the village. "We should go home at night only to sleep," says one kid.

Kurangu Pedal marks the directorial debut of Kamala Kannan. He seems to have packed the narrative with a massive dose of nostalgia, from the ice cart mounted on the back of a cycle to children taking a dip in the well. The film promises to take the audience down memory lane. However, things get a little tricky for the children when one kid goes missing, sending shock waves across the village. It's safe to assume that it will fall on the untrained shoulders of the children to find and bring back their friend from whatever trouble he's in.

Kurangu Pedal opened in cinemas last month to mostly favourable reviews. However, it didn't have a memorable run at the box office.
