Kumkum Bhagya fame Asha Sharma passes away at 88; fans offer their condolences

Today (August 25), the Indian film and television industry saw the loss of the veteran actress Asha Sharma. The legendary actress was 86 years old. She was best known for her performances in films like Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai, 1920, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and others. She was equally well known in the field of television as well. Her role in Kumkum Bhagya garnered immense appreciation.
The sad news of her departure was posted by Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) on its X (formerly known as Twitter) handle. There were many fans and followers of the veteran actress who took to the comments section and expressed their condolences over the passing away of the veteran actress. While one wrote, ‘OMG! This is so very unbelievable. Just as when one thought that the Bollywood was in safe hands like Asha ji, there came the sad and shocking news about her passing away’, another user wrote, ‘Someone please tell me that this news is untrue. Arre yaar! I just saw the Prabhas film Adipurish a few days back and I was so happy to see Asha ji work in the film even at this age. This is just not done at all’.
Another user wrote, ‘Even though there are the present breed of Bollywood actresses who are holding the fort today, one just cannot deny or change the fact that Bollywood was made brick by brick by the people like Farida Jalal, Asha Sharma and others. Shame on today’s actresses who think that by revealing they will work up their way to the top. I really want them all to have a look at the work of Asha mam.
