Kubera teaser: Rashmika Mandanna teases an explosive face off with Nagarjuna in Dhanush starrer

A new teaser for the upcoming movie Kubera was revealed on Friday. The promo video gives a glimpse of an intriguing character played by Rashmika Mandanna. The video opens with Rashmika walking to a secluded place under the cover of darkness.

No, it’s not that kind of movie where the female character ends up in a distressing situation because she was roaming outside too late at night. Judging from the teaser, Rashmika's character is no damsel in distress. She is a woman with a plan, channelling the energy of a hungry wolf climbing up a tall mountain.

Rashmika is armed with a digging bar and shovel. After reaching a spot, she takes a final look around for any onlookers and then gets to work. She breaks ground and digs her way through. She won't stop until she reaches a huge suitcase. She pulls it out and opens it to make sure everything is intact. The suitcase is full of cash. The bundles of Rs 500 notes are neatly stacked one on top of another and taped neatly inside the suitcase. She soon leaves the spot with it.

The promo may not reveal too much about the plot of Kubera, but it seems director-writer Sekhar Kammula put this teaser out to give a quick insight into Rashmika’s character. The young woman we see in the teaser doesn't hesitate to get her hands dirty to get rich.

In contrast, the first look posters and shooting updates have revealed that Dhanush plays the role of a beggar, while Nagarjuna plays a rich man who seems to be obsessed with money. The new teaser sets Rashmika's character in direct conflict with Nagarjuna's.

Kubera will be released in multiple languages and is expected to hit the screens later this year.
