Kottukkaali: Meet Meena aka Anna Ben from Soori’s film | Check out her character poster

Happy Birthday Anna Ben! On the special occasion of the Malayalam actress’ birthday, the makers of her debut Tamil film Kottukkaali took to their social media handles to share a heartfelt birthday post. Along with their birthday wishes, the makers also introduced her character from the film—Meena, and shared a sweet poster of her in character. 

“Happy Birthday to the incredibly talented #AnnaBen, our 'Meena'. Your dedication and passion have truly shone through in #Kottukkaali. Wishing you a year filled with joy, success, and unforgettable moments," they wrote.

The new poster showcases a smiling Anna Ben, seated in an auto rickshaw. Interestingly, among the other posters and glimpses of Anna Ben’s character from the film, this is the first time her character is seen smiling. Fans of the actress are eagerly anticipating her Tamil debut on the big screen. Kottukkaali is set to arrive in cinemas on August 23, 2024.

Earlier, the Kalki 2898 AD actress revealed that she has little to no dialogue in the upcoming Soori film, which she found relieving since she isn’t well-versed in the Tamil language.  

In a social media post recently, Anna also spoke about her character Meena in the film. She said, “Meena is a part of me I never knew I had within, Kottukkaali was a revelation among many other wonderful things…. ." 

Leading man Soori had earlier mentioned that his character Pandi would resonate with many people in society. He revealed that his character is someone who could be found in every family. He further said that Kottukkaali would be completely different from his previous films such as Viduthalai and Garudan. 

Kottukkaali, directed by PS Vinothraj, is backed by actor Sivakarthikeyan’s home banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions. The film recently won the Special Jury Award at the Transilvania International Film Festival and was also the first Tamil film to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival.
