KK's demise: Kolkata police to probe the singer's death after getting consent from his family
Veteran singer KK’s death has plunged the entire entertainment and music industry into a state of shock and gloom. The singer’s health deteriorated after his concert at the Nazrul Manch auditorium in Kolkata after which he collapsed in his hotel and passed away before he was rushed to the hospital. The latest development is that the Kolkata Police will be investigating his death after getting consent from his family and seeking from Congress leader Adhir.

According to a news report in Hindustan Times, a case of unnatural death has been filed at the New Market Police Station in Kolkata after getting permission from KK’s family. KK’s wife Jyothy Krishna and kids Nakul and Taamara have reportedly arrived in Kolkata. The official social media handle of ANI tweeted, “One case of unnatural death has been registered with New Market PS regarding the death of singer KK After getting the family's consent, an inquest and post-mortem will be done. Arrangements are being made for the postmortem at SSKM hospital, Kolkata.”
A student of Gurudas College where KK’s last concert was organized named Shibashish Banerjee spoke about the same with PTI. He said, “He posed with us for selfies and also gave us autographs when we requested. He performed one song after another on the stage. A huge number of people gathered to see him. It is unbelievable that he is no more. I met him at such a show during the initial days of my college, when I told him that today, he instantly recognized me.” The picture of the ‘Yaaron’ singer’s mortal remains being taken to the SSKM Hospital and his wife and daughter arriving has been surfacing on social media.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also mourned KK’s tragic death. She tweeted, “The sudden and untimely demise of the Bollywood playback singer KK shocks and saddens us. My colleagues have been working from last night to ensure that all requisite support is given for necessary formalities, his rites and to his family now. My deep condolences.”
