    Filmmaker Kiran Rao’s critically acclaimed film Laapataa Ladies was recently screened at the Supreme Court of India, exclusively for lawyers. Now, Kiran has shared pictures from the film’s screening on social media.

    Taking to Instagram, Kiran shared a couple of pictures from the screening of her film Laapataa Ladies at the Supreme Court of India. Kiran attended the screening with her ex-husband actor Aamir Khan.

    Speaking about her experience of screening the film at the Supreme Court, Kiran wrote, “We had the unbelievable honour of screening our film Laapataa Ladies at the Supreme Court yesterday. As is visible in these pictures, I am over the moon! Deeply grateful to our absolutely brilliant CJI DY Chandrachud, his wonderful partner Ms Kalpana Das, and the whole team of the CJI. It is an experience I will personally always hold dear, and on behalf of my entire cast and crew, I am so thankful for this honour.”

    She concluded by saying, “(Special mention must be made of Mr Atul Kurhekar, Dr Sukhda Pritam, Ms Tarannum Khatana and Mr Rakesh Kumar for the great hospitality extended to all of us).”

    In the first picture, Kiran and Aamir are posing with Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud and his wife Kalpana Das. In the picture, Kiran has donned a stunning white top, paired with a navy-blue saree while Aamir looks chic in a red and grey kurta.

    The second picture features Kiran, Aamir and CJI sitting on the stage. There are other pics which feature Kiran and Aamir speaking about the film.

    Helmed by Kiran Rao, Laaptaa Ladies starred Sparsh Srivastava, Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel was produced by Kiran, Aamir and Jyoti Deshpande. Actors Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam and Satendra Soni also played pivotal roles in the film.

    Laapataa Ladies was a tale two wives who get interchanged on a train ride because their faces were covered with a veil (ghunghat). How a loving husband ventures on a journey of finding his wife is what formed the gripping storyline of the film.
