KH237 update: Kamal Haasan's actioner gears up for production

Popular stunt choreographers Anbumani and Arivumani, collectively known as Anbariv, are set to embark on a new chapter in their careers. The duo, known for coordinating some of the most breathtaking action sequences in Indian cinema, will now be stepping behind the camera as directors for their debut film, tentatively titled KH 237. Adding to the excitement, Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan has been cast as the lead in this much-anticipated project.

In the latest statement, Anbariv expressed their deep gratitude to Kamal Haasan for trusting them with the ambitious venture. “We are lucky that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan sir has believed in our vision and offered us this incredible opportunity. It’s a big action entertainer, and it will be a treat for every cinema lover,” said the duo.

Production for KH 237 is scheduled to begin in January 2025, though the release date has not yet been finalized. In addition to starring in the film, Kamal Haasan will also produce the project under his home banner, Raaj Kamal Films International. Details about the rest of the cast and crew remain under wraps.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has just completed shooting for his highly anticipated film Thug Life. The movie is particularly significant for Tamil cinema fans as it marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam after a 36-year hiatus. The duo last worked together on the iconic Nayakan (1987), a film that has since achieved cult status in Indian cinema.

Thug Life, believed to be a fantasy drama, has sparked numerous theories among fans. Early teasers suggest the film is set in a dystopian world, with Kamal Haasan portraying a legendary 'thug.' The film promises a departure from the usual Mani Ratnam style, with a unique narrative and visual treatment. Thug Life is slated for release next year.
