Kevin Costner's New Film 'Horizon' Stirs Up More Than Excitement Amid Divorce Drama
Kevin Costner is putting his heart and soul into his new movie project, "Horizon", even as his personal life unravels amid his impending divorce from Christine Baumgartner.
Passion for the Western, Tension at Home
While his estranged wife filed for divorce on May 2, citing issues with Costner's fervent work habits, the actor seems undeterred. "We're deep into the production of #HorizonFilm, and, I have to tell you, I haven't felt this way about a movie since we were making 'Dances With Wolves'", he shared on Instagram.
Baumgartner, who shares three children with Costner, reportedly expressed discontent with the actor's prolonged absences due to his leading role in the hit series "Yellowstone" and his current obsession with "Horizon".
An "Obsession" Worth the Risk?
Costner's devotion to "Horizon" goes beyond just acting. He's taken up the director's chair for the first time in two decades since "Open Range" in 2003. In addition, he is also personally financing this Western passion project under his production company Territory Pictures.
Insiders suggest that Costner's skyrocketing success with "Yellowstone" and his intense focus on "Horizon" might have inadvertently sidetracked his family life. Nevertheless, a source revealed that Costner was "stunned" by the divorce filing and would "take her back."
A History of Heartbreak
This is not the first time Costner's personal life has hit a rough patch. The actor had previously navigated an $80 million divorce from ex-wife Cindy Silva in 1994, allegedly triggered by serial cheating. However, Costner's longtime friend has dismissed any similar allegations in his recent marriage, asserting, "There was no issue of cheating at all."
