Kavin to collaborate with this popular Tamil director for a rural entertainer | Here’s what we know

Following his successful ventures with Dada (2023) and Star (2024), actor Kavin has become one of the most sought-after actors in Kollywood. The actor, who is on a signing spree, has been in talks with director Ponram, who is popular for his works with Sivakarthikeyan such as Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Seemaraja, and Rajini Murugan. The actor is in talks with the Tamil director for a rural entertainer and might give his approval for the project, according to the latest reports. 

Interestingly, the actor has never played lead roles in commercial films and hence, it will be exciting to see if Kavin will be able to ace the role.

Can Kavin pull off a rural entertainer?

If you are familiar with Kavin’s body of work, you will be aware that the Star actor has often signed films that have significant social influence and has often played roles that are different from those of his contemporaries. Although fans of the actor have commended his choices when it comes to script selections, they are also eagerly awaiting the actor to explore other genres. Although some note that Kavin is selective and conscious about the roles he chooses, it will be interesting to see him step out of his comfort zone and try commercial entertainers.

Kavin’s upcoming projects

Meanwhile, the Star actor continues to bask in the success of the Elan directorial. Now that Star has attained blockbuster status, the actor will shortly begin working on his other projects, including Bloody Beggar, which will be directed by Sivabalan Muthukumar under director Nelson Dilipkumar's maiden production venture, Filament Pictures. He will also play the lead in the upcoming film Mask, which has Andrea Jeremiah playing a key role with negative shade. The movie is directed by Vikarnan Ashokan and is produced by Vetrimaaran under his home banner, Grass Root Films.
