Kartik Aaryan recalls how despite the commercial success of Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, no filmmaker wanted to cast him as a solo lead
Kartik Aaryan who gained instant popularity for his Pyaar Ka Punchnama monologue recalls how despite the fandom filmmakers didn't trust in him.
Katrik Aaryan is the star of the moment in Bollywood and his fans cannot wait to watch him takes over the box-office once again with his upcoming projects. While the actor has been on a film signing spree after belting out back-to-back hits, 2022 has been the most significant year of his career with both his releases Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Freddy striking a chord with the audience.
The actor who made his mark with his performance in his first film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama , was recently asked in an interview if he will return for a third instalment of the franchise. The actor who has his hands full at the moment with upcoming projects like Hera Pheri 3, Aashiqui 3, Satya Prem Ki Katha and Shehzada pinned all hopes for a Pyaar Ka Punchnama 3 on filmmaker Luv Rajan while talking to News 18. Kartik said that while both him and the filmmaker are busy with their own projects at the moment and there has not been any talk regarding the project, he is waiting for Luv to offer him a film and that he’s always ready to work with him.
Kartik also looked back at his Punchnama days and recalled how despite the instant fame his monologues earned him and the commercial success of Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 no filmmaker was ready to show faith in him as an actor who could carry a project singlehandedly.
“At that time, I was in a dilemma. People weren’t giving me those [significant] chances even after the release of Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, which made about Rs 70 crores at the box office. The makers still didn’t know my name. They didn’t know if they should cast me in a film, make me the solo lead in their films or trust me with a big film,” Kartik added.
Kartik will be seen next in Rohit Dhawan's Shehzada which arrives in cinemas in April 2023.
