Kartik Aaryan in talks for a period musical to be directed by Shimit Amin? Here's what we know

Kartik Aaryan is on a roll. The actor has been offered several interesting projects lately. In the recent development, he is in talks with Rocket Singh director Shimit Amin for a period musical. The director has already held three to four meetings with the actor and he has shown interest in the script.The upcoming project will mark Shimit’s return to mainstream filmmaking after 14 years.

“Kartik is among the actors who Shimit feels would fit the world of his period musical to the T. He had 3 to 4 meetings with Kartik to date and the actor has also shown interest in the script. More meetings are expected to take place in the weeks to follow,” a source told Pinkvilla.For the unversed, Shimin is known for films like Ab Tak Chappan and Chak De India. He last directed episode 4 for the Netlfix series, The Suitable Boy.

Apart from this, Kartik has the much- awaited sequel, Aashiqui 3 in the pipeline. There has been a lot of buzz around the upcoming romantic drama. Director Anurag Basu is taking up the onus to present contemporary love in his style this time. As per latest report, Tara Sutaria is being considered as female lead in the much loved franchise. Kartik was last seen in SatyaPrem Ki Katha alongside Kiara Advani. He will next be seen in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion, Hansal Mehta’s Captain India and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. As per reports, the actor has recently turned down the chance to be in Border 2. It is being said that the script didn’t excite him much and also he would not like to be part of multi-starrer films.
