Kareena Kapoor Khan turns 44: Marks 25 years in Bollywood with a stellar career

    Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is celebrating her 44th birthday today while marking her 25th year in Bollywood

    Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is celebrating her 44th birthday this year. The actress who was last seen in Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murders, completes 25 years of working in Bollywood this year. After entertaining all her fans on the silver screen with films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.., Jab We Met, 3 Idiots, the actress made her OTT debut with Jaane Jaan in 2023.

    Kareena Kapoor Khan made her acting debut with J.P. Dutta’s Refugee in 2000. Kareena played the role of Naaz and starred alongside actor Abhishek Bachchan in the film. The film, which was set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, got Kareena the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut that year. 

    Later, Kareena starred in popular Bollywood films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... and Jab We Met where her roles Poo and Geet became pop culture icons. Speaking about her characters in these films, Kareena in an interview recently said, though it was fun to play Poo, but no one really thought that 25 years later there would still be characters based around her. 

    Kareena has featured in other successful Bollywood films like Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Talaash: The Hunt Begins..., Khushi, LOC Kargil, Chameli, Omkara, 3 Idiots, Bodyguard, Ra.One, Heroine, Udta Punjab among others.  

    She was recently seen in Hansal Mehta’s thriller The Buckingham Murders. Set in the United Kingdom, the film follows the life of a detective, played by Kareena who investigates the murder of a Sikh boy. 

    Looking ahead, Kareena will be next seen in Rohit Shetty’s action-drama film Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff among others. 

    Kareena Kapoor Khan’s personal life

    On the personal front, Kareena tied the knot with Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012 after a few years of dating. The couple met each other on the sets of Tashan and began seeing each other since then. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Taimur in 2016 and welcomed another baby boy, named Jehangir in 2021.
