In the same interview, Kareena was asked if she had realised her character Poo from the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham would become such an integral part of popular culture. The actress replied that she did not know the effect it would have. The actress said that while playing Poo she was only following the instructions given by the director of the film, Karan Johar. She added that she knew it was a super fun character, but no one really thought that 25 years later there would still be characters based around Poo. Speaking further about the character, Kareena said it was never the intention because one should not have the intention to make a character great. She said that magic has to happen, and nobody knows when they are creating it.

Speaking further about her memorable characters, Kareena said that the same thing happened with her character Geet from Jab We Met. Kareena said that she was shooting for her film Tashan simultaneously which was a big film with Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan. She said that there were no big names attached to Jab We Met and she thought Tashan was going to amazing as she had transformed her body for the role and was doing action in the film. She said she would come on Jab We Met sets, but her focus was on Tashan.

Tashan, featuring an ensemble cast, tanked at the box office in 2008, while Kareena’s 2007 released film Jab We Met alongside actor Shahid Kapoor was a blockbuster hit. Jab We Met was Imtiaz Ali’s second directorial venture and Kareena’s character Geet became a pop culture icon.
