    Actor Karan Wahi shared a post for his childhood friend and Indian Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan after he announced his retirement on social media

    The ace Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan recently announced his retirement from professional cricket through a social media post. Reacting to the news, TV actor Karan Wahi thanked the cricketer and recalled his experience of watching Sikhar dominate the cricketing grounds.

    Taking to Instagram, actor Karan Wahi shared a few pictures of Shikhar and captioned it, “As you Bid Goodbye to international cricket Just want to say Thank you. From watching u Bat in school to Watching u Dominate on every ground in the world its been such a proud feeling yaara…(cheers emoji) to the next phase of your Life shikhiii.”

    For the unaware, Karan used to play professional cricket before he ventured into acting. The actor was selected for the Under-19 cricket team for Delhi alongside Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. The two also shared childhood memories of studying in the same school.

    Shikhar announces retirement

    Shikhar announced his retirement from international and domestic Cricket through a social media post on Saturday morning.

    "It's important to turn the page to move forward in life and that's why I am announcing my retirement from international and domestic cricket," Dhawan said in a video message. "I am leaving with peace in my heart that I played for so long for India. I tell myself not to feel sad that you will not play for India anymore, but to feel happy that you played for your country,” he added.

    He captioned the post, “As I close this chapter of my cricketing journey, I carry with me countless memories and gratitude. Thank you for the love and support! Jai Hind! 🇮🇳.”

    Cricketer Hardik Pandya took to the comment section and wrote, “Only the best for you Shikhi paa. Congratulations on a wonderful career.”

    Gautam Gambhir, who happens to be the Team India’s head coach, also reacted to Shikhar’s retirement and wrote, “Congratulations Shiki on a fantastic career! I know you will spread the same joy through everything you take up in the future! @SDhawan25.”
