Karan Johar welcomes Anjini Dhawan to the movies, lavishes praise on her debut film Binny and Family

Varun Dhawan’s niece Anjini Dhawan is soon going to make her acting debut with the film Binny and Family. Speaking about the release of the film, producer and director Karan Johar took to his Instagram stories and dedicated a post for the movie, calling it ‘a gem of a film.’

Taking to Instagram stories, Karan shared the poster image of Anjini’s film Binny and Family and praised the film. Along with the poster, he wrote, “Have had the pleasure of seeing this gem of a film...made cry, laugh and I walked out feeling like sunshine! My love to my dearest friends @ektakapoor @shashankkhaitan And mahaveerji! Welcome to the movies @anjini_dhawan09! You are so so lovely in the film.”

Helmed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, Binny and Family stars Anjini Dhawan, Pankaj Kapur, Himani Shivpuri, Rajesh Kumar and Charu Shankar and is backed by Ektaa Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, Mahaveer Jain Films and Waveband Pictures.

The makers of Binny and Family shared the first poster image of the film on social media and captioned it, “Purane zamaane ke sanskaar v/s aajkal ke modern vichaar! Complications se bhari family hai Binny ki, par yeh kahaani hai hum sab ki. Miliye Binny And Family se 30th August apne nazdeeki cinema gharon mein. #HarGenerationKuchKehtaHai.” The poster reveals that the film will premiere on August 30.

In the poster, Anjini sported a black oversized shirt, paired with minimal makeup, white headphones and black boots. Her character’s family members played by Pankaj Kapur, Himani Shivpuri, Rajesh Kumar and Charu Shankar feature in the background.

Anjini’s friends and family from the industry congratulated the debutant on her upcoming film. While Varun Dhawan and Khushi Kapoor commented with multiple red heart emojis, one netizen wrote, “Can’t wait!!! Wish you the best always Anjini.”

For the unversed, the 24-year-old Anjini Dhawan is the granddaughter of actor Anil Dhawan and daughter of Siddharth Dhawan. She also was an assistant director on the sets of Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No 1.
