It's superstar Mohanlal's birthday, and several members of the film fraternity are coming forward to extend their heartfelt wishes to the Malayalam superstar. The latest celebrity is Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu who is all set to share screen space with Mohanlal in his upcoming mythological period film Kannappa.
Vishnu Manchu wishes Mohanlal on his birthday
The Telugu actor took to his social media pages to convey a heartfelt wish to Mohanlal. Calling the superstar his favourite hero both on and off screen, the actor wrote, “Many Happy Returns of the day to one of the greatest actors. @Mohanlal, and one of my fav hero, in Reel and Real life (sic)”.
It is speculated that Mohanlal has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the film, alongside other prominent actors such as Akshay Kumar and Prabhas.
Vishnu Manchu drops teaser release date
As reported earlier, the teaser and a sneak peek of Kannappa premiered at the renowned Cannes Film Festival on May 20. Leading man Vishnu Manchu shared his experience of attending the prestigious film festival for the first time and revealed that the teaser of the film received overwhelming responses from audiences. He wrote, “We showcased the teaser of Kannappa here in Cannes, and it received an overwhelmingly positive response! International distributors, local Indians, and everyone who saw it absolutely loved it. I am excited and have butterflies in my stomach after witnessing such fantastic reactions.”
Along with the note, the actor also revealed that the official teaser will be released worldwide on June 13, 2024, with a special screening for his selected Telugu audiences at Hyderabad on May 30, 2024.
“For our audience in India, the teaser will be released worldwide on *13th June. On **30th May*, I will be showcasing the Telugu version of the teaser in Hyderabad at a popular theatre. This special screening is for a select audience who have been encouraging Kannappa throughout my journey and have been sending constant messages of support on Instagram and Twitter. My team will be reaching out to these special invitees. I can't wait to share the world of Kannappa with you all!,” the actor wrote.

Earlier on May 20, Vishnu Manchu attended the 77th Cannes Film Festival to promote his upcoming film, Kannappa. The teaser of the film debuted at the esteemed Olympia Theatre at the French Riviera. Accompanying him was his wife, Viranica Manchu, along with the producer of Kannappa, M Mohan Babu, and choreographer, Prabhu Deva. They attended the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga, directed by Kevin Costner. Vishnu Manchu shared the photos on his Instagram, along with a few videos.
