Kanguva: Karthi lauds brother Suriya’s dedication; says 'The way he converts his negatives into positive is...'
Here's what Kanguva star Suriya's brother and actor Karthi revealed about his dedication to his craft.
Suriya and Karthi
Kollywood’s beloved brothers and stars, Karthi and Suriya, have often shared heartwarming affection for each other and supported one another’s films whenever they got an opportunity. At the recent audio launch event of Suriya’s upcoming fantasy action period drama, Kanguva, Karthi was full of praise for his big brother.
Karthi is all praise for Suriya
The Meiyazhagan actor went on to talk about Suriya’s dedication to his craft and admired his passion for constantly improving in everything he does. Recalling an incident from the sets of Aayutha Ezhuthu, where both of them worked as an associate director in the Mani Ratnam directorial, he revealed how Suriya did not let the body double perform the high-octane action sequences, instead volunteering to do them himself. He said, “He didn’t let the stunt double do the stunt and did everything himself, which shocked stunt master Vikram Dharma, who said, 'Your brother is a real fighter.'”
Karthi continued to praise Suriya’s dedication and determination to accomplish anything considered impossible. Karthi added, “Whatever you say is impossible for him, he will put his heart and soul into making it possible. The way he converts his negatives into positive aspects is truly admirable and I pray that Kanguva becomes a big success.”
Karthi teases Kaithi and Rolex’s faceoff
Meanwhile, Karthi also teased the audience with an update about the highly anticipated sequel, Kaithi 2. The actor revealed he would begin shooting for Kaithi 2 next year and hinted at his character Dilli’s desire to have a faceoff with Rolex, played by Suriya.
For the unversed, Suriya’s Rolex is the antagonist from Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU franchise, while Karthi’s Dilli, one of the first protagonists in the LCU franchise, will be seen clashing in a mega action thriller in the upcoming sequel to the 2019 film Kaithi.
On the other hand, Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, is scheduled to hit the big screens on November 14, 2024. Interestingly, Karthi is rumored to play a pivotal role in the climax of the film.
