Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut, who is busy campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has decided to postpone the release of her upcoming film, Emergency. The makers of Emergency revealed that the actress is prioritising her duty to the nation and the new release date of the movie will be released soon.

Taking to Instagram, the makers of Emergency posted a picture which read, “Our hearts our filled with love pouring in for our queen Kangana Ranaut. As she prioritises her duty to the nation and her commitment to serve the country, the release date of her much anticipated film ‘Emergency’ has been postponed. We promise to update you soon with a new release date. Thank you for your continued support. #EmergencyComingSoon.”
Netizens react to Emergency getting postponed
The post caught the attention of the fans who expressed their disappointment in the comment section. One social media user wrote, “Already this film wrapped one and half year before it's still struggling to release,” while another said, “It's been too late....Hope she would release it soon... Meanwhile some teasers etc.”
Earlier, the makers announced that Emergency will hit the theatres on June 14 and shared a poster of Kangana dressed up as Indira Gandhi. The caption read, “Unlock the story behind India’s darkest hour. Announcing #Emergency on 14th June,2024. Witness history come alive as the most feared & fiercest Prime Minister #IndiraGandhi thunders into cinemas #Emergency in cinemas on 14th June,2024.” The film was earlier set to release on November 24, 2023, but was postponed due to changes in Kangana's schedule.
Backed by Zee Studios and directed by Kangana herself, the film chronicles the political career of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Alongside Kangana Ranaut, Emergency will also feature Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.
Kangana, a BJP candidate, is contesting in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
