Kangana Ranaut compares herself to late singer Lata Mangeshkar, says 'denied insane amount of money' just like her
Kangana Ranaut drew similarity with late singer Lata Mangeshkar saying that she had also refused to perfoming at weddings and parties.
Kangana Ranaut on Thursday remembered late singer Lata Mangeshkar and her inspiring journey as an artist. She recently shared a video of Asha Bhonsle from her appearance on the TV show DID Li’l Masters 5, wherein she hailed her late sister’s respectable image as an artist. She revealed that Lata refused a million-dollar proposal of appearing as a special guest at a marriage event. Similarly, Kangana mentioned that she too denied a huge amount of money and never performed at weddings or parties.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the Tanu Weds Manu actress posted the old viral reel of Asha Bhonsle speaking about the late Lata Mangeshkar. And alongside, she wrote, “Agree! Even I never danced in weddings or private parties, even though I have the most popular songs…denied an insane amount of money…glad to come across this video…Lata ji truly so inspiring.” For the unversed, legendary singer Lata, fondly known as Nightingale of India, breathed her last on February 6, 2022. She was 92.
Kangana is currently busy shooting for her upcoming political drama, Emergency . The film will see her playing India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Not only she is acting but directing the movie. The film will chronicle incidents that took place under the first woman Indian prime minister in 1975. It was recently reported that the actress has sought permission for shooting a few scenes inside the Parliament. However, Kangana rubbished the reports claiming its a fake news.
Written by Ritesh Shah, Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Choudhary, Shreyas Talpade, and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. Recently the film's team wrapped up their schedule in Assam. Backed by Renu Pitti and Kangana under the Ease by Trip and Manikarnika Films, the film is set for a 2023 release.
