Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut never fails to speak her mind and express her views on social media. This time, she has called out Bollywood actor Sonu Sood who supported a street vendor for spitting in his customer’s items.
Kangana Ranaut responds to Sonu Sood’s comments
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kangana lashed out at Sonu for defending a street vendor for spitting in his customer’s food. She wrote, “Next you know Sonu ji will direct his own Ramayana based on his own personal findings about God and religion. Wah kya baat hai Bollywood se ek aur Ramayana."
She reacted to the post by sharing another post, “SHOCKING NEWS… Bollywood actor Sonu Sood justifies sp*itting in people’s food. He equates sp*itting on food by a miscreant with Lord Ram eating Shabri’s berries. He said ‘if Lord Ram could eat Shabri’s berries, why can’t he eat rotis that have been spat upon?’ He defended the act of spitting by describing it as an act of ‘Humanity’. He said, ‘Humanity must remain intact.’"
Earlier this week, a social media user shared a video of a street vendor spitting on dough to make rotis. Speaking on the controversy, Sonu wrote, “Our Shri Ram Ji ate the sour berries of Shabri, so why can't I eat them? Violence can be defeated by non-violence my brother. Humanity must just remain intact. Jai Shri Ram”.
Sonu's reaction to the street vendor’s actions
Sonu got trolled for his views and attracted negative comments from others apart from Kangana.
One user wrote, "The roti smeared with spit should be parcelled to Sonu Sood, so that brotherhood remains intact!"
Another wrote, “Itna bhi defend maat karo, galat ko bhi sahi proof karne mein lage ho (Do not defend so much that you try and prove a wrong thing right).”
On the professional front, Sonu will be seen next in Abhinandan Gupta’s film titled Fateh alongside Jacqueline Fernandez.
Kangana is awaiting the release of her film Emergency, which will release on September 7.
