Kalki 2898 AD: Vijay Deverakonda hits back at trolling with bold Arjuna look

Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda was recently subjected to heavy trolling after his character in the latest Telugu blockbuster, Kalki 2898 AD, was revealed. In response to all the criticism, he updated his social media profile with a photo of his Arjuna look from the movie. This is believed to be a retort to his detractors, who have been mocking him since the release of the movie.

Amid all the praise that Kalki 2898 AD garnered on its opening day, the trend on social media against Deverakonda also seemed strong.

Deverakonda makes a cameo appearance in Kalki 2898 AD as Arjuna, and some didn't like his performance. Fans of Deverakonda immediately came to the actor's defense and started a counter-trend. However, in response to all this controversy, Deverakonda's latest subtle move is believed to be his statement on the debate. He remains unfazed and owns his performance in the movie.

Deverakonda shares a great rapport with director Nag Ashwin. He landed his first major supporting role in Nag Ashwin's directorial debut Yevade Subramanyam, before scoring a huge hit as a lead actor with Pelli Choopulu. He also played a supporting role in Ashwin's previous period drama, "Mahanati."

Nag Ashwin earlier revealed that since he's friends with Deverakonda, he wants him in every film he does. Kalki 2898 AD is no exception.

The film is only the beginning of a new cinematic universe, which is inspired by the Indian epic Mahabharata. It remains to be seen whether Deverakonda will have a bigger role to play in upcoming movies in the series.

Kalki 2898 AD is replete with a slew of celebrity cameos, drawing surprise reactions from audiences. The film mainly revolves around four main characters, played by Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone.
