Kalki 2898 AD team unveils Deepika Padukone's intense avatar ahead of trailer release | Check out new poster

Ahead of the trailer release of the Prabhas-starrer sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD, the makers of the film took to their social media pages to share an interesting poster of leading lady Deepika Padukone. The new poster features the Bollywood actress in an intense and poignant look, searching for a ray of hope.

In the poster, Deepika Padukone is seen in dystopian-style attire and sporting a short hairdo. The new poster has created a significant buzz on social media, with fans thrilled to get a glimpse of the Bollywood star’s look from the film. The buzz around the poster release has also caught the attention of fans who were initially criticizing the actress for not promoting the film on her feed enough. 

In the recent past, the actress finally showed support for the film, although fans are unsure about her lack of participation earlier. Nonetheless, it looks like the star is all set for the release of the magnum opus.

Deepika Padukone’s role in Kalki 2898 AD

With the release of the film nearing, many sources have speculated that Deepika Padukone will be essaying an interesting role in Kalki 2898 AD. According to popular reports, the actress will be playing the role of the reincarnation of the goddess Lakshmi, with her character named Padma in the movie. Though the information is yet to be confirmed by the makers, the buzz has generated excitement among fans who are waiting to see what Nag Ashwin has created for the audience.

Kamal Haasan completes dubbing for Kalki 2898 AD

Meanwhile, the main antagonist of the film, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, recently wrapped up the dubbing work for his portions. A video of the actor visiting a studio in Chennai to finish the dubbing process surfaced online. Director Nag Ashwin was also present, monitoring the process. 

The trailer of the film will be released on June 10, 2024, and the Nag Ashwin directorial will have a worldwide release on June 27, 2024. The film will feature Prabhas playing the role of Bhairava, who is the alter-ego of the Kalki avatar. Amitabh Bachchan is set to appear in the role of the immortal Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD.
