Indian movie icon Amitabh Bachchan expressed his deep gratitude to producer C. Aswani Dutt on Wednesday at the pre-release event of Kalki 2898 AD in Mumbai. In a heartfelt gesture, Amitabh bowed down and touched the feet of Aswani Dutt as a sign of his admiration for the latter's humility.

"I would like to say a few words about this wonderful gentleman Aswani Dutt. He is the owner of Vyjayanthi Films, along with his two daughters. I have never met a more simple and humble human being than Aswani sir. Every time you are on the sets, he's the first person to be there. He's at the airport to receive you, and he also pays a lot of attention to the safety of actors. Nobody thinks like that. Thank you so much, sir. With all due respect..." said Amitabh before bowing down to Aswani.

Amitabh's gesture and his appreciation of humility were among the highlights of the event, which also saw the presence of his fellow co-stars Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone.

Reacting to the incident, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who has worked with Amitabh on several movies in the past, called it the highest moment in Aswani's career spanning five decades.

"Here is the UPPER LIMIT of achievement for ASHWANI DUTT by AMITABH BACHCHAN doing this. I doubt from N T Rama Rao onwards till the latest young heroes anybody would have done this, and neither did I ever see BIG B do this to any other PRODUCER in his entire career. KUDOS DUTT GAARU," tweeted Ram Gopal Varma.

Aswani founded Vyjayanthi Movies in 1974 and has produced some of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Telugu cinema. The upcoming movie, Kalki 2898 AD, is the most prestigious project in the company's history. It has been made at a whopping cost of Rs 600 crore, with his son-in-law Nag Ashwin helming the sci-fi epic.
