Kalki 2898 AD on OTT: Where to stream Prabhas' sci-fi epic post-theatrical run

Amazon Prime Video has bagged the streaming rights to the latest Telugu mythological epic, Kalki 2898 AD. The film, starring Prabhas and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles, opened to an earth-shattering response worldwide on Thursday.

As per prevailing trends, all new South Indian movies partnered with Amazon Prime Video make their streaming debut after a four-month run in theatres. Considering Kalki 2898 AD is a massive movie, it's not clear whether the filmmakers may opt for a longer theatrical run, defying current streaming trends.

Kalki 2898 AD is ambitious both in terms of scale and scope. Director-writer Nag Ashwin has reimagined the Indian epic Mahabharata in a dystopian future. The film is one of the most expensive movies in the history of Indian cinema, with a budget pegged at Rs 600 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD has taken a phenomenal opening and is poised to set a new box office benchmark for the Indian film industry. Early estimates suggest that the film might breach the Rs 200 crore mark on its opening day itself.

Kalki 2898 AD has received mostly positive reviews from critics, and word of mouth on social media is also very encouraging for the movie.

One of the major highlights of the movie is its cast, featuring some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. While Prabhas plays the lead, Kamal Haasan takes on the role of the antagonist, Supreme Yaskin. Kamal portrays a tyrant with superhuman powers who pushes humanity to its limits in his quest to become the sole superior force in the world.

The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in key roles.
