Junaid Khan admits he wouldn't have gotten his debut film Maharaj if he were not Aamir Khan's son

    Actor Junaid Khan opened up about his debut film Maharaj and said that he probably would not have gotten the film if he was not Aamir Khan’s son.

    Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan made his acting debut this year with director Sidharth P Malhotra's Maharaj. He was seen with Sharvari, Shalini Pandey, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The star kid was highly praised for his performance. The audience is now looking forward to his future projects. Recently, Junaid shared how he would not have gotten Maharaj if he was not Aamir Khan’s son. He even opened up about auditioning for Aamir's Laal Singh Chaddha but didn't end up doing it.

    During a conversation with NDTV, Junaid revealed that he auditioned for Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and even though his dad liked his test, he did not get the part. He said, “Kabhi Kabhi kuch part aapko milte hain kuch nhi milte. It is true that Maharaj ke pehle maine kuch auditions diye the. Wo nahi hue uss waqt. Yes, dad has already talked about it (Laal Singh Chaddha audition), so I can say yes. Jab maine test kiya tha tab papa ko test kaafi pasand aaya tha par the film was budgeted at a place jahan aap ek naye actor ke saath woh film nahi bana paoge. Isliye mujhe nhi muka mila woh film karne ka (At times, you get some roles and you miss some. Yes, I did give auditions before Maharaj too. But they didn’t happen. Laal Singh Chaddha was budgeted at a level where you wouldn’t cast a new actor as the lead. So, I wasn’t selected for that film)."

    Further, Junaid went on to admit that he would not have gotten his debut film Maharaj if he was not Aamir Khan’s son. "But I will also admit ki if I was not Aamir Khan's son, I would probably not have gotten Maharaj,” he stated. His comment was received by a round of applause from the audience.

    Maharaj starring Junaid Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat is directed by Sidharth P Malhotra and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film is based on the real-life events of the Maharaj Libel Case of 1862. Junaid plays the role of Karsandas Mulji in the film who files a case against the local priest of his area. The plotline revolves around the challenges Karsandas faces in his battle against Maharaj. The film was released on Netflix recently.
