John Abraham slashes fee for Sajid Khan's next after his recent films fail to work at box office?
John Abraham has apparently agreed to take a fee cut for Sajid Khan's next after his past few films turned out to be box office duds.
John Abraham is all set to star in filmmaker Sajid Khan’s next comedy caper. The pandemic hasn’t been kind on John Abraham’s action flicks like Mumbai Saga, Satyamev Jayate 2 which barely managed to get by at the box office. Reportedly this has led to actor taking a pay cut for Sajid Khan’s next which will reportedly be shot in London.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, John has agreed to slash Rs. 3 crores from his standard remuneration to help the project stick to its budget. Apparently the makers were hoping to get John to agree to do the film at Rs. 15 crores but eventually a deal was struck at Rs. 18 crores.
John is said to have charged Rs. Rs. 21 crores for Mohit Suri ’s Ek Villain Returns after seeing a huge spike in his fee over the past two years. The actor is no doubt one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars in Bollywood but like most other films that have released in cinemas during the pandemic John’s films too had to face a tough time at the ticket windows.
The actor currently has in his kitty Attack and Ek Villain Returns which are ready for cinemas this year while the actor is busy working on wrapping up Pathan which is Shah Rukh Khan ’s comeback film and has John playing the villain.
Sajid Khan who has been away from the limelight for some time now is ready to return to directing films and his next will feature John along with Riteish Deshmukh. The movie will reportedly go on floors next month.
In the mean time, Pathan has one last schedule to wrap up while Riteish is bust filming his directorial debut Vedd which will also mark Genelia D’Souza’s comeback to the big screen after a gap of ten years.
