Jersey actor Shahid Kapoor reveals he still approaches filmmakers for work; says ‘there's nothing wrong in that’
When the trailer of Jersey was launched, Shahid Kapoor had revealed that post Kabir Singh’s release he went to filmmakers like a ‘beggar’ asking for work because he was new to the 200-250 crore club.
Shahid Kapoor began his journey as an actor with Ishq Vishk back in 2003. Over the years, he evolved as a performer and it reflected in the versatility with which he played characters. In 2019, he left his fans surprised when he aced the grey shaded role of Kabir Singh. It grossed over Rs 370 crore and emerged as Shahid’s highest grossing solo-lead release. Well, currently the actor is gearing up for the release of his next film Jersey , which arrives in theatres on 14thApril. Fans have really high expectations from it.
During the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Shahid had revealed that he would approach filmmakers after the release of Kabir Singh because he didn’t know where to go. It was all very new to him. The actor had stated, “After Kabir Singh released, I went like a beggar to everybody. I went to all these people who've made these 200-250 crore films.” Well, in a recent interview with Bollywood Life, Shahid was asked if that is still the case. To this he replied, “See, I did say that, but what I meant is that I've always been approaching all kinds of filmmakers for work, still do, and will always continue to do so as there's nothing wrong in that.”
The actor explained that asking a filmmaker for work or discussing the possibility of collaboration does not bother him. In fact, he feels doing so offers him a lot of options. Shahid shared, “So, yes, I'm still going ahead and speaking to filmmakers because that's the way an actor will get work that satisfied him or her.”
