Jaya Bachchan explains why she despises media and paparazzi; asks ‘Am I not a human being?’
Jaya Bachchan is one celebrity who does not enjoy being clicked by paparazzi during her public appearances. Well, she has now revealed why she hates the media.
Bollywood industry and media have a very important relationship because the latter acts as a bridge between the celebrities and their millions of fans. Most people from the industry share a lovely connection with paparazzi and greet the shutterbugs graciously whenever they meet. However, there are a few who believe that the media is invading their privacy. One celebrity who does not enjoy being clicked when she is out and about is veteran actress and politician Jaya Bachchan . She recently told a pap, who fell while clicking her photo, that she hopes he ‘doubles and falls’.
Well, in the latest episode of her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast What The Hell Navya, Jaya revealed her very honest views on media and paparazzi. She stated, “I hate it. I despise it. I despise the people who interfere in your personal life and fill their stomachs by selling those products. I hate it, I'm disgusted with such people. I always tell them, I say, ‘Aapko sharam nahi aati hai (Don’t you feel ashamed?)'.” She went on to add that she has felt very strongly about this since day 1.
The veteran actress explained that she does not mind people talking about her work because it’s visual media. But she does not give a damn about trolls. Jaya further stated, “You can say, 'She is a bad actor, a bad parliamentarian' but you have no business sitting on judgment of my personal character. 'She only knows how to get angry'. Angry about what? You're intruding, interfering in my personal when I'm walking somewhere, you're taking my picture. Why? Am I not a human being?”
On the work front, Jaya will next be seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.
