Janhvi Kapoor's dad Boney Kapoor's silverware worth Rs 39 lakh seized by ECI in Karnataka

Janhvi Kapoor ’s father and film producer Boney Kapoor has hit the headlines for an unfortunate event take took place in Karnataka. A car was stopped at a check post near Davanagere at the toll and around 66 kilos of silverware worth Rs 39 lakh was seized by the Election Commission of India on Friday. The car allegedly belonged to Boney, however, the police are yet to confirm its validity.
The silver items including bowls, spoons, plates and water mugs, were being transported without any documentation from Chennai to Mumbai. The car, carrying the items, was allegedly owned by Boney’s company, Bayview Projects Pvt Ltd. During the police interrogation, Hari Singh, one of the passengers, confessed that the silver goods belonged to Boney’s family. So far, Boney has not issued any official statement or comments on the matter.
Earlier, Boney became the target of trolls after his pictures went online wherein he was seen holding international model Gigi Hadid by her waist. The two were clicked at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre’s grand inaugural event last week. One netizen stated, “The way #BoneyKapoor Holds Gigi Hadid's Thin Waist in this pic, Is it real or just my Hallucination.” Some people even tagged him as ‘Tharki’.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Boney Kapoor made his acting debut with Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy drama Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. He featured as Ranbir Kapoor’s onscreen father and Dimple Kapadia’s onscreen husband in the movie. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, and Anubhav Singh Bassi in prominent roles. Kartik Aaryan and Nushratt Bharuccha appear in cameo role in the movie. On the other hand, his daughter Janhvi was last seen in his directorial Mili, which is the official Hindi remake of Malayalam film, Helen. Directed by Mathukutty Xavier, the film also has Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.
