Jailer director Nelson will be helming Dhanush's next project

    Jailer will be hitting theaters worldwide this August.

    Director Nelson is on a roll after working with Vijay and Rajinikanth, the director will be working with Dhanush next.

    The director had pitched the story to the actor before the filming of Jailer began, the project is expected to start production in 2024.

    Dhanush is currently busy with his upcoming Captain Miller. The movie is a period drama marking Matheswaran's directorial debut and his first collaboration with Dhanush. The movie is currently being shot in the forest of Tenkashi.

    The movie will also star Hollywood actor Edward Sonnenblick, who last played the role of Edward in SS Rajamouli's RRR.

    The movie will also be the first time Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar will work alongside Dhanush, making Captain Miller his second Tamil movie after Rajinikanth's Jailer.

    The rest of the cast includes Sundeep Kishan, Nivedhithaa Sathish, John Kokken, Priyanka Arulmohan, and Sumesh Moor.

    Noted composer G.V. Prakash Kumar will be handling the music for the movie, with Shreyas Krishna in charge of the cinematography and Nagooran will be serving as editor.

    Meanwhile, Rajinikanth's Jailer is currently in post-production. The movie will be the first time Rajinikanth will be working with director Nelson, The director's last movie was Beast which starred Vijay in the lead role.

    Jailer will be the first time Rajinikanth will be working with Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, the movie also marks the actor's Tamil debut.

    Director Nelson roped in Malayalam superstar Mohanlal for a cameo in the movie. The project was announced by Sun Pictures in February and production officially started in July with shooting taking place in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore.

    In Jailer Rajinikanth plays the role of a Muthuvel Pandian the warden of the notorious prison. However, the plot of the movie remains under wraps.

    Recently Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has also joined the cast of the movie. This will be the second time Rajinikanth and Jackie Shroff will be working together after the 1987 Bollywood movie 'Uttar Dakshin'.

    Jailer will be dubbed in all major Indian languages and is expected to hit theaters worldwide on August 10.
