The 46-year-old actor is currently busy promoting his movie Jungle Cry , which is based on the true story of tribal kids winning India the junior rugby World Cup in 2007. Talking on its sidelines, the actor spoke about how ‘cliquish’ Bollywood has been and how he struggles to fit in.

“I could work harder on fitting in. It’s just too much work. I should be putting those hours into acting. That itself makes me more of a misfit. Yes, it is cliquish. I think we all know that. There are only so many groups and you kind of find yourself in one. It’s a tribal mentality in that sense. You find your tribe and you are supported by them and fit in. And I didn’t try to because I didn’t know if I fitted in with anyone,” he told Hindustan Times.
The DevD actor has often been called an off-beat actor for doing more unconventional than mainstream cinema. However, he admits that his own nature has contributed to that perception. “It’s a marketing thing, all actors have PR machinery. I did not back then and I still don’t. It’s become more and more part of the job profile to have media behind you and to market, you--to have a PR team so that they can highlight. It’s like you have to scream your achievements out to people and I’ve always been shy of that. I understand that now,” the actor said.
“You stay quiet and people think you are not around. But no, I am around. It’s just that I’m not announcing myself all the time. Because it’s the information age and people are spoilt for choice, there is so much noise that you have to make some noise to be heard. You have to sound louder than everybody else. And I don’t!” he added.
Meanwhile, Abhay earlier made headlines when he revealed that marriage is on the cards for him. As per Etimes report, the actor was asked about his wish to get married in an interview, and also questioned about the mystery woman with whom he might be dating right now. To which, he responded, "I'm getting married" with no additional information.
