In his career of over 16 long years, actor Vikrant Massey has played many different roles on screen. May it be Rana Khanna of Dil Dhadakne Do or Nawab Khan in Made In Heaven. But one particular character that left a lasting impact on the audiences was Rishabh Saxena aka Rishu of Haseen Dillruba. Also starring Taapsee Pannu and Harshvardhan Rane, the romantic thriller featured him as an innocent, small town husband in love. But after being constantly hurt and cheated on by his wife, Rishu becomes a sadist. The intensity of his character gave us goosebumps and ever since then we have eagerly been waiting for Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba. Well, we finally have an update on the sequel.
In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, Vikrant revealed, “It’s done, it’s complete. Really excited. Bohot maza aaya shoot karke actually, it’s crazier than it was before. We have a new wonderful actor who has joined us, Sunny Kaushal. And a new director too, Jayprad Desai, he made Kaun Pravin Tambe, a very beautiful film, critically acclaimed, highly acclaimed rather. He’s joined our team. And it’s coming out early next year. Can’t, sort of, even speak about the time because woh mujhe genuinely nahi pata hai. Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, yeah. So, early next year. Maybe before the second quarter for sure.”

So there is still some time for Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, which also reportedly stars Jimmy Shergill in an important role. Meanwhile, Vikrant is busy gearing up for another exciting release. This Friday, he will shine on the silver screen in 12th Fail. Also starring Medha Shankar and Priyanshu Chatterjee, the film follows the real life story of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. In the trailer, Vikrant blew us away with his gritty performance and versatility. The actor also has projects like Yaar Jigri with Sunny Singh, and Dinesh Vijan’s Sector 36 in his kitty.
