'Itna kharab chehra': Gadar 2’s Anil Sharma reacts to Priyanka Chopra's nose job, reveals real reason behind her surgery
Priyank Chopra did go for nose surgery but for a different reason as recently revealed by Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has often spoken about how she was suggested by filmmakers to undergo a knife during her initial days. The actress did go for nose surgery but for a different reason as recently revealed by Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma. The filmmaker had worked with Priyanka in Hero: The Love Story of a Spy in 2003.
Anil recalled how the actress went into depression for a few months, as her nose surgery went terribly wrong. He revealed that she was also removed from other film projects. "Itna kharab chehra, itni kaali lag rahi hai. Kya ho kya gaya hai isko? I called her immediately, and she came over the next day with her mother. They were in tears, they told me about the operation, which had even left a mark under her nose. It’s still there to this day. They said it would take months to heal, and that Priyanka had been dropped from several projects she’d already signed," he told Bollywood Thikana.
He further mentioned that Priyanka’s mother Madhu told him she had a sinus problem, henceforth she opted for nose surgery. The director added, “She had decided to return to Bareilly and return after some months, and was offering her signing amount back to me.” However, he stood by her and called a make-up artist to cover up the scar. “She looked just as beautiful as always in the pictures from the screen test,” he concluded.
Earlier, Priyanka opened up about a surgical procedure she regretted an early-2000s cosmetic removal of a polyp in her nasal cavity. “This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression,”she had told on Howard Stern’s radio show in May. She stated that it was her father who encouraged to seek corrective surgery to restore her face.
Meanwhile, workwise, Priyanka was last seen in Citadel, an Amazon Prime series, alongside Richard Madden. On the other hand, Anil is basking in the success of his latest release Gadar 2 which surpassed the collection of Pathaan to become highest grossing Hindi film.
