'It will be too much': Shah Rukh was not approached for a cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Kjo reveals why

Karan Johar’s recently released film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is blooming at the box office and how! The film starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. It also had cameo appearances by Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Ananya Panday in the song ‘Heartthrob Ji.’ However, amidst this, some fans also expected Shah Rukh Khan to also make a guest appearance in the film as the superstar has done often before for Karan. In his latest interview, Karan revealed why he didn't approach SRK for a cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Talking about the same, in an interaction with Sucharita Tyagi, Karan Johar said that Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was an extremely defining scene for which he will forever be grateful to the megastar. However, the director said he cannot keep using his privilege with SRK for his every film. Furthermore, the Kal Ho Na Ho director said that Shah Rukh performed his cameo act in Brahmastra for free.

The filmmaker said that Shah Rukh Khan shot the cameo scene in Brahmastra for 18 days and gave his heart, body, and time for it. Karan Johar added that if he goes to Shah Rukh again for a cameo appearance in his film, it will be too much. Karan hinted that he cannot take advantage of the fact that the Pathaan actor never says no to him. KJo furthermore said that he cannot keep approaching the actor every time even though he has that access to him.

Meanwhile, talking about Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in Brahmastra, he had essayed the role of Vanar Astra. The character was a pivotal key to taking the storyline forward. On the work front, Shah Rukh will be seen in Jawan and fans are excited to see him weave magic in the Atlee directorial.
