Actress Sonam Kapoor has been invited to attend and perform at King Charles III's coronation which will be taking place in London on May 7, 2023. Apart from her, eminent members of the Hollywood fraternity like Tom Cruise, Katy Perry, and The Pussycat Dolls will also be present at the prestigious occasion. However, no sooner was the news announced than netizens started trolling the actress.

Talking about the same, according to a news report in the Variety, Sonam Kapoor will be appearing on the stage to deliver a spoken word performance to introduce the Commonwealth virtual choir. This will also mark the I Hate Luv Storys actress’ first royal event. But it seems like the netizens started a meme fest after hearing the news.

One of the netizens stated, “Ussey Achcha ranu mondal ko invite kar leta” while another user said, “Looks like no one is interested in Sonam.” There were some references to the Kohinoor diamond too. One of the netizens said, “Bhai ye kohinoor le ayigi kya nikal ke waha se?” Another user stated, “Why is Sonam invited….this is ridiculous…..this is degrading the event completely.” A netizen added, “Heera wapas le aana.” A user also found an opportunity to take a dig at Vir Das whose monologue ‘I Come From Two Indias’ which he delivered at Washington was heavily criticized. The comment said, “Hope she doesn’t become next Vir Das there to find acceptance in the gora circles.” A netizen went on to say, “Why they chose sonam kapoor...they could have invited Ananya Panday or Chunky Panday.” Another user took a jibe at Sonam Kapoor and said, “Why? Isko india me koi nahi bulata”

Sonam Kapoor is currently residing in London with her husband Anand Ahuja and their son Vayu. Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonam will return to acting after a long sabbatical with The Blind. The movie is a crime thriller and is helmed by Shome Makhija.
