Is Triptii Dimri not a part of Kartik Aaryan's Aashiqui 3? Mukesh Bhatt sets record straight about casting rumours
Aashiqui 3 producer Mukesh Bhatt said that the casting rumours are false. He claimed that he hadn’t met Triptii Dimri ever and clarified that the casting would be on standby until the script and music get ready.
Speculations were rife that Animal fame Triptii Dimri has been roped in for Aashiqui 3 opposite Kartik Aaryan. Some reports suggested the makers felt that she would set the screen on fire and have now locked her as the female lead. However, Aashiqui 3 producer Mukesh Bhatt has now broken the silence around the casting rumours.
In a recent media interaction, Bhatt said that the rumours are false. He claimed that he hadn’t met Triptii ever and clarified that the casting would be on standby until the script and music are ready. “Rubbish! This is absolutely false. I have made it very clear that we are not casting until the script and the music are ready. But everyone wants to cash in on my popular Aashiqui franchise. This is unacceptable. I haven't even met this lady,” he told Etimes.
Further, Bhatt mentioned that the only name which is finalised is Kartik Aaryan. “Kartik and the music are the stars of Aashiqui 3. The rest will happen after we get the music in place, not before," he added. The rumours of Triptii joining the cast fueled up after a news portal reported that their source said that the actress has been the talk of the town following the historic success of Animal, hence the makers locked her as the female lead. However, Bhatt has quashed the rumours and we now await the official announcement which will finally reveal the leading lady.
Talking about Triptii, the actress received critical appreciation for her performance in Bulbbul and Qala. However, she garnered much-needed popularity after her role as Zoya in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. Despite having limited screen time, the actress managed to overshadow several co-stars in the film. Meanwhile, she is geared up for Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, a romantic comedy opposite Vicky Kaushal.
Meanwhile, Aashiqui 3 will reportedly go on floors next year. Directed by Anurag Basu, the film is the third instalment of the hit franchise which was initiated in 1990 with Aashiqui directed by Mahesh Bhatt, followed by Aashiqui 2 helmed by Mohit Suri in 2013.
