Aamir Khan recently hosted a grand celebration for his mother, Zeenat Hussain’s 90 birthday, and the pictures from the party were posted online. Now, Aamir Khan’s daughter and Zeenat’s granddaughter, Ira Khan, has shared unseen photos from the party and penned a heartfelt for her grandmother and how a person deals with aging.

Taking to Instagram, Ira shared a few unseen pictures from Zeenat Hussain’s 90th birthday party featuring her family and friends. Speaking about how Zeenat is embracing her old age, Ira penned a note for her and what she thinks about getting older.

Ira wrote in the caption, “I know there are lots of things and people in these photos. And I wanted you to focus on Dadi’s face. Just her. The cake cutting took a good 15 minutes. Standing can get tiring for her, there’s a fear, weakness… as there is when people get older and their bodies change again. I wonder from time to time what it is like to age. Not your-hair-turning-white kind of aging. The your-body-is-starting-to-deteriorated kind of aging. Where you start to lose capability in all your faculties. I’ve always wondered if I’d still be able to enjoy life or if by then I’d just be going through the motions. But look at her smile! She was beaming through it all! A genuine beaming. It made me smile. P.S. I was not allowed to check if the tea pot or cup were cake.”

In the photos shared by Ira Khan on Instagram, the first picture features Ira along with her family. Zeenat Hussain stands in the middle with her teacup cake while Aamir stands next to her. In the picture, Aamir’s ex-wives, Reena and Kiran Rao, and sons Junaid and Azad can also be seen. Ira’s husband Nupur Shikhare was also spotted in the background of the image.

The second picture features Ira helping her grandmother cut the cake, while Reema and Aamir’s sister Nikhat are standing next to them.

The birthday party was held on June 13. A source close to the actor had earlier told Indian Express that she has been unwell for over a year. "Now that she has recovered and is doing well, everyone wanted to have a large get-together. Family and friends from all over India will gather to celebrate this special day. People are coming from Banaras, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mysore, and other cities,” the source added.
