Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare wedding: Aamir Khan's daughter asks guests for THIS as a gift

Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan is all set to tie the knot with longtime boyfriend Nupur Shikhare today(January 3, 2023) in an intimate Maharashtrian-style wedding. Ahead of the function, the bride-to-be has declined to accept gifts from guests and instead proposed a thoughtful gesture. As per reports, she has suggested a more meaningful alternative for guests to donate to her NGO, the Agatsu Foundation.

For the unversed, Ira serves as the founder of CEO of Agatsu, a non-profit organisation dedicated to mental health and well-being. And her commitment to philanthropy even at her nuptial is commendable. Aamir shares daughter Ira with his ex-wife Reena Dutta.

A day ago, Ira Khan’s mehendi ceremony took place at Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan and his family reside. Aamir Khan, his ex-wife Kiran Rao, and their son Azad Rao were seen arriving at the venue in their traditional best outfits. The pre-wedding festivities began with the Kelvan ceremony and the Haldi ceremony in the presence of family and close friends. The marriage ceremony is scheduled to take place today at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Taj Lands End Hotel in Mumbai's Bandra area.

Ahead of the wedding, Aamir’s sister Nikhat Khan revealed some details about Sangeet ceremony. "We have been practicing and preparing songs on dhol, which we plan to sing tomorrow. It will be a more casual sangeet, we will be playing dhol and singing all wedding songs. Aamir is learning to sing as well. However, for the wedding songs, it is only the ladies who will be performing. Our family from Banaras, Lucknow and Delhi have come. Reena's side family has come down from Delhi and Punjab," she told ETimes.

Meanwhile, Ira and Nupur is reported to have a registered wedding post which all the wedding rituals will begin. It is also being said that Ira is set to don a lehenga, while Nupur will wear a tuxedo for the wedding. Following which, a big industry wedding reception will take place on January 13 in Mumbai as per reports.
