Inshallah before Baiju Bawra for Sanjay Leela Bhansali?
Buzz is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to revive his 2019 shelved project Inshallah soon.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to revive his previously shelved film Inshallah with some alterations according to latest reports. The filmmaker after collecting accolades for his directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi last year, is now said to be set on revisiting Inshallah which was announced to star Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt earlier but was later dropped after the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor backed out of the film last minute.
While there has been no formal announcement regarding his next big film, it has been long speculated that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next directorial will be Baiju Bawra starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. However, a report in Mid-Day now claims that it is likely that SLB picks up Inshallah next on which the pre-production work has already been completed and with the music also ready.
According to the same report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is said to have pitched the movie to two superstars of the 90s to replace Salman Khan and might take the movie to production based soon after he has the cast finalised.
“Considering the age of the male lead character, Sanjay has two superstars from the 1990s on his mind. He will plan depending on their interest in the subject and when they can commit to the movie. Sanjay would like to make Inshallah first because the pre-production and music is ready,” a source told Mid-Day.
Inshallah which was to go on floors in 2019, was to mark the reunion of Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam until creative differences arose between the two and the project came to a standstill days before production. The filmmaker then swiftly switched gears and made Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia, who had already devoted her dates to Inshallah.
As things get finalised for his next big theatrical outing, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy in putting out his first ever web series Heera Mandi. The project starring Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hyadri, Manisha Koirala and Richa Chadha will stream on Netflix and the first look about the much anticipated series has already been released. While Netflix is yet to announce a release date, Heera Mandi is slated to release this year and is based on the life of courtesans set in the pre-independence era.
