Actor Jagan recently hit out at the makers of Indian 2 for not including his name in the credits or posters.
Actor Jagan about the makers of Indian 2
Tamil actor Jagan won critical acclaim for his role as Chitti Babu in Suriya and KV Anand's film Ayan. However, the actor has only been known for this role, and failed to keep up the success post the film. In a recent interview, the actor, who plays a pivotal role in Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, slammed the makers for not mentioning his name in the cast credits.
Jagan on Indian 2
Jagan recently hit out at the makers of Indian 2 for not mentioning his name in the credits or posters. The actor expressed his disappointment over not prioritizing his presence in the film Indian 2.
“Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Vivek were mentioned, but my name was not included at all. I thought I was playing a key role, but I’m not even included in their promotions,” the actor said.
The Ayan-fame director also added that Kamal Haasan didn’t use his influence as the lead to include him in the promotions.
On prioritizing SJ Suryah over Jagan
The actor also expressed his dissatisfaction over not including his character in the poster, while SJ Suryah, who plays a small role in the second installment, received a big banner. “I thought after Kamal sir and Siddharth’s roles, my character would be the most important one, but here I don't even see my character on the main posters, while SJ Suryah, who plays a short role, has gotten an even bigger poster appearance,” the actor said.
The actor also shared that he received the role in the movie after the late KV Anand spoke to director Shankar for him.
Kamal Haasan on favouring Indian 3 more than Indian 2
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan recently revealed that he was more excited for Indian 3, the third installment in the Indian franchise. The Ulaganayagan also said that he signed Indian 2 because the third installment impressed him a lot. However, this generated mixed reactions from netizens who criticized the actor for not promoting Indian 2, which is already struggling to generate pre-release hype.
Later, the actor clarified that although he did not mean to berate the film, he still stands by his statement that Indian 3 is his favourite film in the franchise. “Just because I liked part three of the film (Indian 3) doesn't mean I didn't like Indian 2. It has also come out very well. However, I have pinned more expectations on Indian 3, and you can't stop that,” the Indian 2 actor said.
