Indian 2 audio launch: When, where to watch Kamal Haasan's event

Lyca Productions has confirmed the date and time for the broadcast of the grand audio launch event for its upcoming magnum opus, Indian 2. Starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, the film about an elderly vigilante is written and directed by Shankar. 

The producers held the Indian 2 audio launch event on June 1 at the popular Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The event drew the participation of the who's who of Tamil cinema, besides the star-studded cast and crew of Indian 2. However, the event was closed to remote audiences. 

The Indian 2 audio launch will now be broadcast on Sun TV on July 7 from 3 PM onwards and will also be made available for streaming on SunNXT. A day later, the producers may release the key speeches from the event on YouTube. The event will also be telecast the same evening on Kalaignar TV at 6:00 PM.

The music launch for Indian 2 was marked by composer Anirudh Ravichander's electrifying live performances. It also showed the participation of stars like Simbu and directors Lokesh Kanagaraj and Nelson, who shared their memories of watching Indian in theaters back in the 90s.

Indian 2 is the first major solo release for Kamal Haasan in two years, following his 2022 blockbuster Vikram. It is also one of the most-awaited movies of 2024, as Shankar brings back Kamal's iconic character Senapathy after a gap of 28 years. 

Indian played an instrumental role in establishing Shankar as a force to reckon with in Indian cinema when it was released in 1996. After a lot of struggle, Shankar has managed to release his long-nurtured ambition of making a sequel to the classic. He has also shot Indian 3, which will open in cinemas six months after the release of Indian 2, due in cinemas on July 12.
