As announced earlier, Dhanush is preparing to direct his upcoming film titled Idly Kadai. Although the actor-turned-director had previously unveiled the poster, the official cast and crew of the film have yet to be disclosed.
Nithya Menen comes on board for Dhanush's next
Nithya Menen, who was speculated to be part of the film, recently confirmed the rumors with an adorable picture featuring Dhanush in her latest Instagram post. Sharing a photo of herself with Dhanush, sipping a glass of tea, the National Award-winning actress confirmed the speculations about reuniting with her Thiruchitrambalam co-star. Sharing the new picture, the actress wrote, "New announcement! #idlikadai."
Soon after she shared the picture, fans were seen flooding her comments section. A fan commented, "Two best actors once again." Another fan wrote, "So cute." Others were seen dropping red heart and fire emojis.
Earlier, the actress expressed her excitement about playing a village-based character in the film, describing it as a challenging yet thrilling role. While she avoided revealing plot details, she compared the role to Shobana's character in Thiruchitrambalam, noting that it is a new and demanding experience for her.
Going by the announcement poster, the film seems to be made against the backdrop of a street food shop.

Directed by Dhanush, the film features his Thiruchitrambalam co-star Nithya Menen as the female lead, while Arun Vijay plays the antagonist. On the technical front, the original background score and soundtracks are composed by GV Prakash Kumar, marking his collaboration with Dhanush after the actor’s third directorial venture, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (yet to be released). Cinematography is handled by Kiran Koushik, and Prasanna GK serves as the editor. The film is jointly produced by Dhanush’s home banner, Wunderbar Films, and Dawn Pictures, in their maiden collaboration.
