IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack actor Vijay Varma opens up about his skin condition and how it affects him

Vijay Varma is one of the leading actors in Bollywood who has proven his acting mettle with films like Darlings, Jaane Jaan and Lust Stories 2. The actor, who will be seen next in web series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, recently spoke about his skin condition, vitiligo, and how it affected him in his acting career.

Speaking about his skin condition, Vijay revealed that he did not make a big deal out of it. He added that it was just a cosmic thing and it is not really anything that can change the course of somebody’s life. The actor stated that the condition affected him only when he was out of work.

He said, “I would wonder if this would become an obstacle. But ever since I have been working and seeing a lot of success, it hasn't bothered me."

When talking about why he hides his condition in films, the actor said that he hides it because it distracts his audience, and he does not want them to look at anything else except what he wants to show them.

The actor further said that though he hides his vitiligo in films, he has never attempted to hide it for his public appearances. Vijay stated, “I have never bothered to cover it up. People these days are very intelligent, and I feel that today's generation has an innate sense of responsibility. I have never been spoken about loosely for my skin condition. Maybe if it was some other time, then this could have possibly become a topic of discussion."

Darlings actor Vijay will be seen next in Anubhav Sinha’s crime drama series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, alongside an ensemble cast including Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah, Arvind Swami, Dia Mirza, Pooja Gor, and Patralekhaa. Amrita Puri, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Anupam Tripathi, Kanwaljeet Singh, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sushant Singh, Aditya Srivastava, Rajeev Thakur and Yashpal Sharma will be playing supporting characters in the series.

Vijay will be essaying the role of a flight captain in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The web series is scheduled to release on Netflix on August 29.
