'I am as excited...': Vicky Kaushal reacts to Sam Bahadur's box office clash with Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal
In the context of Sam Bahadur and Animal box office clash, Vicky Kaushal said that it’s time that industry should normalise clash of films at the box office.

Vicky Kaushal recently unveiled the much-awaited teaser of his upcomng film Sam Bahadur. The film’s release date is coinciding with that of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal on December 1. Addressing the clash at the teaser launch event, the Sam Bahadur actor suggested that the film industry should give audience an option of multiple films on the same day. He shared that both films can work if they are good and resonate with the audience.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles. The cast and crew gathered at the teaser launch on Friday in Mumbai. Speaking at the event, Vicky said that it’s time that the industry should normalise the clash of films at the box office. “In today’s time, we, as an industry, should give the option of multiple films on the same day to the audience. That’s how we will flourish as an industry. We have those many weeks in a year, but as an industry, we cannot limit ourselves to making those many films in a year. We will have to make multiple films and we will have multiple releases on the same day. We have to build an atmosphere with multiple films can work on the same day. We have the strength in the audience, we have the strength at the exhibitor level, so, why not?” he said.
“Given today’s scenario now, the excitement that the the audiences have, I think, if the resonate with two Films and both the films are good, both can work. So, I am as excited for Animal as anybody else. As long as it is a great for the audience. We work for them,” he added. In the upcoming film, Vicky essays the role of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. The teaser offers a sneak peek into the time when he served as the Chief of the Army Staff during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.

Animal, on the other hand, is an upcoming gangster drama which focuses on a troubled relationship between a father and son amidst violent crime. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, the film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Kabir Singh fame.
